Home sales were just below the all-time record for July, set 11 years ago.
The Canadian Real Estate Association reports that 339 units were sold, down three sales from July of the previous year. The average selling price was just above $330,000, up 7.2% from July 2017.
The CREA report quotes Darren Close, President of the Kootenay Real Estate Board, as saying “The 339 properties that traded hands in July 2018 mark one of the best months of July the local housing market has ever seen, only about a dozen sales short of the record for the month set 11 years ago. With inventories at the lowest levels in over a decade, prices continue to move higher.”
